Some of what a luxury log home requires cannot be purchased. It has to be made. That's what the mill is for.
Chase Construction operates on-site bandsaw and circular milling equipment — a capability that most residential builders don't have and can't replicate. We produce lumber cut to specification for our own builds, for contractors who need dimensional material outside standard stock, and for specialty applications that simply don't exist in any catalog.
Having milling capability in-house changes what's possible on a build. When a log profile doesn't exist in standard dimensions, we cut it. When a structural element requires a specific section, we produce it.
The "More" in Milling & More is real. Beyond the mill, Chase Construction takes on specialty build work that falls outside the scope of our primary construction services.
We build custom cabinetry and woodworking elements for clients who want the interior of their log home to match the quality of the structure. Not production cabinets. Made-to-specification work, by the same hands that built the house.
Outbuildings. Barns. Guest structures. Custom furniture-scale pieces for high-end interiors. We take on specialty projects that align with our craft and our client base.
The clients and builders who come to us for milling have usually already discovered that what they need doesn't exist at standard supply. That's exactly where we work best. If you have a milling need — or a specialty build project in the Sun Valley area — bring us the details. We'll tell you what we can do.
We work primarily with Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine, and larch — species common to the Idaho region and well-suited to both structural and finish applications. If you have a specific species requirement, ask us and we'll tell you if it's achievable.
Yes. We mill for other contractors, builders, and individual clients. You don't need to be a Chase construction client to use our milling services. Contact us with your dimensions and quantity and we'll give you a straight answer on lead time and cost.
We evaluate requests based on the material and scope involved. Small specialty orders are often workable — especially for unique profiles or species that aren't available elsewhere. Reach out with your specs.
Bring us your specs and we'll tell you what's possible. No standard catalog required.
